2/4: Senior Pictures

Also a couple weeks ago I had senior pictures - a tradition in America. There a senior (a student that is graduating) is taking a photoshoot with a professional photographer with multiple changes of locations and outfits.
I had mine with my best friend Madi and we had a blast even though it wasn't that warm that day (welcome to Michigan... :D)
So here you can see some results and I will add some more later...

Plus: that weekend was Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival which meant pancakes - all you can eat haha - and a fair. It was a lot of fun and the weather was awesome - yes it can change really quick up here :D

1/4: Detroit Zoo

A couple weeks ago my family and I visited my grandparents in Detroit. (Pretty cool hm? ;D) On Saturday morning we visited the Detroit Zoo and I had a blast! To be honest I was probably more excited than the little ones haha :D
But yeah a picture tells you more than 1000 words could, so enjoy:

School

I know some of you are wondering how school over here works and if it is easier or harder than in good old Germany...

Well, in my opinion school is way easier here and I do not only have fun classes (even if I could take them haha)...

My school has trimester and everyday I have 5 classes. This Tri I have a 2-hour block of cooking every morning, then US History and then 30 minutes of lunch. After lunch I have English 11 and Algebra 2.

So I think I have a good mix between 'Fun' classes and normal classes that you actually have to study for (jk, I haven't studied in 10 months ;D)

Just saying but you already have 25% right, even if you don't study and just pick random answers....

So a tipp for new exchange students:
If the year does not count in your home country, don't stress out about classes but try something new! In my first and second Trimester I had Interior Design and enjoyed it. Plus I got Culinary Arts (or simply cooking) in my second Trimester and loved it so much that I have it in a two-hour block now. My school has their own restaurant and we prepare everything during class and learn useful management skills in case we want to go into the restaurant business. We cook and bake everything from cookies, cakes, soups, pizza and burger or pasties (Pasteten ;D) and I already know that I will continue cooking when I am back home.

So don't stress out about classes and try new things!

Spring Break, Amish Dinner and random Updates

Hey friends,
yes it's actually me. That girl that promised to post weekly updates and didn't keep her promise. Well, sorry for that but I just did not have the time (haha :D an exchange year can be stressful) and/or the motivation to write something.

So yeah, here are some updates of what you missed in my incredibly fascinating life ;D
Oh and in case you did not notice yet... After rather unhappy posts about wanderlust and so on I found back to my old sarcastic self. And writing this is so much better than working on an essay for english haha... ;D

Where do I start?
Maybe with the title. As you can probably already guess, a group of friends and I went to an Amish Dinner and the food was just delicious! It had some German accents and tasted awesome!! Due to their religious beliefs, the Amish people don't like when people take pictures of them, so I can't help you out with that.

Then (well already a couple weeks ago) my hostfam and I went to Frankenmuth aka 'Michigan's little Bavaria' and I have to say I have never been so happy to hear songs like 'Schatzi, schenk mir ein Foto' or something like that lol. There we also visited one of the worlds biggest christmas stores that is open year round and closes only over christmas... (Ironic right?)

As you can see, they have quite a bit of Christmas stuff right? :D
Well, after we spent Easter in Detroit my Spring break was almost over and I spent the rest like a normal teenager... Watching Netflix and sleeping... :D

Now we make a jump from Easter back to April, because our school had 'Oscars' this Friday. That was an award show with a lot of different categories and everybody dressed up super fancy (kinda like Homecoming). After school I went with Johanna and her sister and we got ready, went to Panera for Dinner and then enjoyed the show.

A small comic just to make you guys smile ;D

Ok, so looking at the length of this post I decided to do a second one.

Keep tuned
